SCRAPBOOK MEMORIES
This mural, of a photo album of Newark's past, is located at the east end of Primo Hoagies, 223 East Main  Street. For long time residents the photos serve as a reminder of bygone days. Newer members of the community are able to get a sense of Newark's history as well as the diversity of its population. Created as the result of  collaboration between the City of Newark and the Newark Arts Alliance, it was funded by the City.

Segment from a videotaped interview conducted in 2009
How do you support the cultural life of Newark?
I got involved with the Friends of Newark group. We had forums on Main Street. I got involved in working to create the Newark Arts Alliance to sustain  culture on Main Street. I'm currently working still with the Friends of Newark to bring a coffee house once a month to Main Street, the third Friday of every month.
