    • Once you determine the data that will be shared through your web site, the next step is to create the map. All maps for the GeoViewer web sites must be created in ArcMap. ArcMap has a user-friendly interface, numerous cartographic options, and flexible data-format support.

    If you are using ArcGIS Server template, you will need to use ArcMap to design your map. If you select the Google Map template for your site, background maps and imagery are already provided by Google. You can add your own spatial data on top of the Google Map. This data must be in either XML or KML file format. You may also supply your own tiled imagery.
